KUCHING — St Joseph’s Parish Ladies Guild has served the various needs of the parish for the past 40 years. To mark the occasion, three programmes were lined up: thanksgiving Mass, recollection and celebration dinner.
On Saturday 2 July, 55 Ladies Guild members attended a Thanksgiving Mass presided over by Fr Francis Anthony at ACCPC. In his homily, Fr Francis touched on the Responsorial Psalm of the day, “I will hear what the Lord God has to say”. On this appropriate and joyous occasion of the Ladies Guild 40th Anniversary Celebration, Fr Francis urged the ladies to continue “to be who you are and serve God and community through the Ladies Guild movement”.
A Day of Recollection themed “Love & Joy” followed immediately after the Thanksgiving Mass. Sr Adriana Tiong gave two talks interspersed with question-and-answer and story-telling, making the Recollection meaningful and interesting. Sr Adriana reiterated that “love and joy” need not mean doing big things. She urged Guild members to “do the little things for God and continue showing kindness, joy, love as the eyes, hands and feet of Christ. She also encouraged spending quiet time with God”.
A Celebration Dinner themed “Splashes of Red” on Saturday 23 July at Ecumenical Worship Centre saw both Guild members, guests, families and friends enjoying fellowship with much joy and fun. Guests were entertained with a beautifully choreographed Dance themed “Symphony of Love” and performance presented by the chairlady Rose Iwanaga-Khoo and her band.

Does anybody have the recording of the late Sr. Adriana’s talk or sharing at the end of 2016? Thanks.
