KUCHING — On 5 March 2022, 20 legionaries from Our Lady Cause of Our Joy Praesidium embarked on a pilgrimage to Gethsemane Pilgrimage Centre, Bunan, for a Lenten Retreat.

The Retreat began with prayers, then proceeded with Stations of the Cross, Thanksgiving Mass, Lenten Reflection and Rosary Devotion. Legionaries were reminded of their compassionate and zealous roles as an army of the Legion of Mary, working in unity with the Holy Spirit in reaching out, offering comfort and prayers to those in need, and for the salvation of souls.

Bearing in mind that “Lent is a period of fasting and repentance”, the pilgrims reflected on their own self-sacrifice and the hardship Jesus felt during His time in the wilderness.

Their Spiritual Director, Rev Father Albert Jacobse, MHM told them: “First fill your own house with the Fragrance of love and, remove the darkness of sin from your heart and, bend down to lift someone who is down-trodden and forgive from your heart those who have sinned against you.”

Strict compliance to the Pandemic SOP was observed throughout the Retreat.
