KOTA KINABALU — A total of 36 Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) serving the Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Church of Mary Immaculate English Masses was commissioned by Fr Paul Lo, parish priest of SHC parish on Sep 18 during the 6.00pm Sunset Mass.
The term of service is for two years, that is 2021-2023. Eleven were newly appointed EMHCs, while the other 25 were re-appointed ministers. There will be twelve ministers serving in each Sunday Mass.
During the commissioning, Fr Paul reminded all the EMHC that they should be humble in their service, and should also strive to live a holy life worthy of the appointment, especially in the love for the Holy Eucharist.
He also called upon all EMHCs to attend the weekly adoration of the Holy Eucharist which is held every Thursday at the Cathedral at 8pm.
