EMPOWERED Cell Completes Study on Gospel Matthew

KUCHING — EMPOWERED Cell Ministry has recently concluded a faith deepening study on Matthew: The King and His Kingdom from The Great Adventure: Your Journey Through the Bible on 11 April 2021.

EMPOWERED Cell consists of three groups of college/university students and two groups of young working adults where each group has approximately eight members. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the cell study was conducted online since its commencement on 20 August 2020. Despite the restrictions and challenges of an online cell study, the cell members instilled discipline in themselves to commit to the cell journey and reaped the rewards in the experiences testified below:

EMMANUEL RONAN – College/University Cell

It was mind blowing, and thanks to everyone who made it more fun. Well, this cell has helped me to know more about the scriptures in the bible and know more about Jesus.

KYLE TUDIN – College/University Cell

At first it was something to help me keep in touch with the Empowered Community and my religion. But throughout the sessions I found more meaning in the different chapters and following Jesus’ life. It was an amazing experience that I recommend to everyone else if there is another session.

LAURA NGAU – Young Working Adults Cell

My biggest takeaway was definitely getting to know Jesus and the bible a lot better now. I’ve always loved reading the bible, whether it’s the stories or the bible verses, but during this cell study, diving deeper into the Word each week really helped me have a better picture of what the bible is all about as a whole. A lot of dots were connected between the Old and New Testament (We would have never been able to do so if not for the study materials). It has given me many insights on the questions I always had on the bible, on Jesus and on our faith overall.

I also think that it’s important to have a group of friends with us when it comes to studying the Word of God, just like what we have in Cell group. It is definitely not something to be done alone. Overall, I’m very, very, very grateful that I was introduced to this bible study 🙂

FENIELIA DIWVYA – Young Working Adults Cell

Learnt a lot… the most significant was the way Jeff Cavins dissects the entire book of Matthew. It was interesting to know the ways to actually read, comprehend and linking it back to the OT sometimes, I didn’t know it can actually go that deep. Also learnt more on understanding and how to read the bible.

Another one that struck me the most is probably one of the stories Jeff shared on the videos regarding the kid with the pearl necklace. She said she loves her dad but refused to give it to him but in the end finally gave it to her dad although in tears, only to receive a greater gift in the end. Just found that story awesome and I should probably be more willing to give upon the things that I have, perhaps God has better plans/stuff unknown to me.

Cell is a really, really good programme… it has truly been a wonderful, eye-opening and blessed, graced by God, journey 🙂

RACHEL CHUA – College/University Cell

This journey of cell has made me realise that the journey of getting to know Christ is an ever-ending one. What I look forward to the most is getting to hear from other members. Though not being able to be physically present/gather as a group, it has occurred to me that there are no boundaries when it comes to sharing the Love of God with each other—this time through virtual means. Praise God!
