Cardinal Tagle marks the conclusion of Laudato Si’ Week 2021

VATICAN CITY  The liturgical celebration takes place on Sunday at the General Curia of the Friars Minor in Rome and the church of San Damiano in Assisi, partly online and partly in person, marking the conclusion of the Laudato Si’ Week events. The afternoon celebration is being promoted by the Global Catholic Climate Movement and comes after the online cultural festival, “Songs for Creation”, that took place on Saturday May 22.

The celebration includes the participation of Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples; Fr. Michael Perry OFM, Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor; Bishop Domenico Sorrentino of Assisi; and Fr. Augusto Zampini, adjunct secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. Also, Christina Leaño, associate director of the Global Catholic Climate Movement and a representation of animators and different experiences involved in the Laudato Si’ Week project will also speak online. The liturgical celebration includes the announcement of the missionary mandate given to the Laudato Si’ animators of the Global Catholic Climate Movement, as well as to other pastoral workers involved in ecological ministries.

The celebration will be in English, but simultaneous translation will be available in Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Polish, Vietnamese, broadcast in live streaming on the Vatican News portal.
