KUCHING — On 9 November, the Yayasan Lasallian Kuching (YLK) celebrated its first Family Day at St John Singai as the first centre to host the event. More than 200 students, teachers and some parents from Singai participated in the event. Also present were the President of St Joseph’s All Boys, Prof Dr Sim, Chairman of Yayasan Lasallian Kuching, committee members and Spiritual Formator, Br Justin.
La Salle Singai runs a Learning Programme for students with mixed abilities and Tuition classes for Primary 5 and 6 in English, Science and Mathematics to prepare them for Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR). According to Taka, the Supervisor at the centre, the service rendered through Yayasan Lasallian Kuching has helped a lot of students from the villages in that area. They are very proud that one of the former students from the Tuition centre is currently doing her medical studies in Russia.
Yayasan Lasallian Kuching, a non-profit body is running Tuition and Learning Centres in Stass, Skibang, Sibuluh, Apar, Stutong, Brothers’ Quarters for SK St Joseph and BDC concurrently.
